Our People

Meet Our Ministry Team

Scott Newling

Scott has been the minister of Watsons Bay Anglican since 2017. He and his wife Emma have been married for over fifteen years and have three delightful boys. Together they've served in a variety of parishes across Sydney; Emma also teaches with the chaplaincy department at St Andrew's Cathedral School.

Before entering Christian ministry, Scott studied Ancient History and Semitic Languages; he also worked as legal editor and team manager. Scott is also currently a PhD candidate at Cambridge University in the Old Testmanet / Tanakh.

Scott's great passion in life is to help people understand the Bible better, and, in so doing, help them to know Jesus better. Scott's also written various articles about Christian ministry that you can find online; a sample for your encouragement can be found over at Matthias Media's old periodical, The Briefing.

Caitlin Orr

Assistant Minister

Caitlin has been part of the ministry team since 2018, and loves to welcome people and help them settle into our church community. For several years Caitlin has also used her executive and policy experience to assist the former Archbishop of Sydney, Peter Jensen, in his role with the Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans. Not short of energy, Caitlin also does some work with Equip Women.

Caitlin brings a lot of warmth and enthusiasm to the church, and is always excited to tell people of all ages and stages about Jesus. Her husband, Lachlan, ministers in town in a similar role with City Bible Forum.

Many of the children in the parish will also know Caitlin as their Scripture teacher at Vaucluse Public School.

Dan McKinlay

Assistant Minister

Dan and Kirsten McKinlay have been with us since 2018 as well, and joined the ministry team in 2019.

Recently graduated from Moore College, Dan has served in several Sydney churches as a student. He and Kirsten hail from Scotland, where he has ministered in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Dan is also the founder of Emerging Patrons, which is associated with the Gospel Patrons, a global organisation aimed at raising a new generation of wealthy Christian men and women to live lives of generous and unassuming benefaction.

Gregarious in nature, Dan loves meeting and chatting with people, especially to talk about Jesus' generosity to us in the gospel. His wife, Kirsten, works as an editor for Matthias Media.

Lucy Wong

Student Minister

Lucy is a country girl from Armidale, and lived for several years in Newcastle before coming to Sydney to prepare for ministry at Moore College.

Lucy is in her final year of study at Moore, and has been with us since 2018 after spending a couple of years as a student at Auburn.

Newly married to Os, the two live on campus in Newtown, and join us for church and ministry on Sundays.

Os Wong

Student Minister

Os is the newest member of our ministry team, having married Lucy in January and joined us from Chester Hill Anglican, where he was a student before.

Os is now in his third year of training at Moore, which he entered after an apprenticeship with the Evangelical Christian Union on the Health Sciences Campus of Sydney University.

A fine preacher, musician (and Cantonese speaker!),  Os brings a wealth of gifts, not to mention his godly character, to our church.

Liti Seroa

Office Administrator

Originally from Fiji, Liti, her husband Simi, and their two children are long-term members of our church and locals in the area.

Calm, caring, and compassionate, Liti's open and friendly demeanour is often the first encounter people have when making contact with our church. Liti is the port of call for property bookings, weddings, funerals, and to arrange niches in the Gardens of Remembrance. On Thursdays Liti also teaches Scripture to Kindy kids at Vaucluse Public School.
